Prof. Andrej Sukop, M.D., Ph.D., is Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and University Hospital Královské Vinohrady. He is one of the leading Czech specialists in plastic and reconstructive surgery, with extensive experience in breast reconstruction, hand surgery, congenital deformities, and microsurgical techniques. He performs the full spectrum of breast reconstructive surgeries, including preventive mastectomy and microsurgical breast reconstruction using tissue transfer from the lower abdomen. Besides his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching and scientific research. He is the author and co-author of numerous professional publications and regularly lectures at national and international medical conferences. Prof. Sukop also serves as the President of the Czech Society of Plastic Surgery and significantly contributes to the development of the field both within the Czech Republic and internationally. He has been long-term engaged in humanitarian aid – through the MEDEVAC program, he provides surgical care in regions affected by conflicts and humanitarian crises.
